美国副国务卿康贝尔（Kurt Campbell）今天表示，中国已构成美国史上最大挑战，并且更胜于冷战时期，他呼吁欧洲对北京当局采取更强硬立场。

法新社报道，康贝尔告诉美国众议院外交事务委员会（Foreign Affairs Committee）：“人们认识到这是我们历史上最重大的挑战。”

康贝尔指出：“坦白说，与中国带来的多方面挑战相比，冷战（Cold War）显得黯然失色。”

他还说：“不仅是军事挑战：这是全面性的。在全球南方（Global South）。在科技上。我们需要全方面加强我们的竞赛。”
